13th US in Progress Winners Announced

Saturday at the Festival: 44 screenings and 12 meetings Sunday at the Festival: 43 screenings, final Q&As, and the Awards Gala

In the 13th edition of the US in Progress Wrocław industry program (November 8th-10th 2023) taking place during the 14th American Film Festival, 8 American works in progress were presented. All were eligible for post-production services sponsored by the partners of the programme.

The jury made of representatives of partner companies decided to award the projects as follows:

  • Good One by India Donaldson received:

- the $50,000 cash prize for post-production in Poland awarded by the director of the Polish Film Institute.

  • Christmas Eve in Miller’s Point by Tyler Taormina received:

- the $10,000 post-production award from ORKA;
- script consultation for the next project of the director from New Europe Film Sales.

  • Cold Wallet by Cutter Hodierne received:

- the $10,000 post-production award from Fixafilm;
- $10,000 Music Score Award from Soundflower Studio.

  • Familiar Touch by Sarah Friedland received:

- $2,500 post-production award for VFX and title design from XANF;
- Lower Silesia Film Centre location scouting award;
- promotion consultations from New Europe Film Sales.

  • Know Me by Edson Jean received:

- VFX Consultations for his next project from Platige Image;
- creative sound design, an additional award from Soundflower Studio.

  • Obex by Albert Birney received

- $5,000 for VFX from XANF.

  • The Water is Always Warm by Morgan Krantz received:

- the $10,000 post-production award from Black Photon;
- $2,500 for VFX award from XANF.

  • We Strangers by Anu Valia  received:

- the $10,000 post-production award from Platige Image;
- $10,000 for music post-production from EarWorks

The 2023 edition of US in Progress included one on one meetings between Polish and American producers with the goal to inspire co-productions and future partnerships as well as panels and discussions.
