Worth every penny! AFF on the list of festivals to attend!
Oh, how nice to once again find ourselves in such esteemed company! "MovieMaker" magazine has unveiled its coveted list of the top festivals worth every dollar spent, aptly titled 50 Film Festivals Worth the Entry Fee. For the eleventh consecutive time, the American Film Festival made it to the list!

Here's how the editors of "MovieMaker" praised the AFF:
Sometimes you have to leave America to appreciate how good we have it, film-wise: From its vantage point in Central Europe, the American Film Festival heralds the best of U.S. cinema (...). That doesn’t mean getting in is easy: It is mostly curated. But if you get in, except to enjoy generous help with travel and accommodations, the presence of major distributors known to include Universal, Sony, Paramount, Warner Bros. Discovery and Disney, and tens of thousands of dollars in prize packages. Films that played the latest edition include Alexander Payne’s The Holdovers, Sofia Coppola’s Priscilla, and Kristoffer Borgli’s Dream Scenario. Other draws include the U.S. in Progress program, which promotes partnerships between U.S. filmmakers and Polish post-production facilities, buyers and producers, among others. Last year’s festival also included insights from Adele Romanski and Alex Ross Perry, as well as a silent disco party.
Simply put: It's an experience not to be missed!

But that's not the only reason to celebrate! We hasten to report that two films showcased in last year's US in Progress program will be featured at Cannes, within the esteemed Directors' Fortnight (Quinzaine des cinéastes). Congratulations to India Donaldson, recipient of the Polish Film Institute's Director's Award, for her film Good One (post-production by FixaFilm), and to Tyler Taormina, creator of Christmas Eve in Miller's Point (special effects by Orka Studio).
US in Progress is our flagship program, where Polish post-production companies collaborate to finalize independent American films. Wroclaw serves as a regular meeting point for U.S. filmmakers with European producers and sales agents. So: we have an eye for great projects!
The 15th edition of the American Film Festival is scheduled to take place from November 5th to 11th, 2024.
