US in Progress alumni projects premieres

Congratulations to projects showcased in 2024 edition of US in Progress program!

Christmas Eve in Miller's Point by Tyler Taormina and produced by Krista Minto, Rob Rice, Eric Berger, Kimberly Dai, Kevin Anton, Calogero Carucci, Jeremy Gardner, Tyler Taormina, and Michael Cera with special effects provided by Orka Studio (as an award at US in Progress) will premiere in Cannes in the Directors' Fortnight (Quinzaine des Cinéastes) program. 

Good One directed by India Donaldson and produced by Graham Mason, Diana Irvine, Wilson Cameron, and Sarah Winshall, recipient of the Polish Film Institute's Director's Award, post-production by Fixafilm premiered at Sundance Film Festival and after New Directors/New Films screenings in New York and will be screened in the Directors' Fortnight as well. Fingers crossed! 

Earlier this year, two other US in Progress projects premiered at SXSW Film Festival in Austin, Texas: Cold Wallet by Cutter Hodierne produced by Vanishing Angle that was partly post-produced at Fixafilm and with the score composed with participation of Maciej Zielinski and We Strangers by Anu Valia produced by Miranda Kahn, Olivia Wingate, Alex Bach, Zach Spicer, and Joy Jorgensenwas partly post-produced by Platige Image and EarWorks

Last year’s alumna Monica Sorelle was awarded again! for Mountains (US in Progress 2022) at the Miami Film Festival that ended last month. 

The 15th edition of the American Film Festival is scheduled to take place from November 5th to 11th, 2024 and US in Progress will be held from November 7th till 9th. The submissions will open early in August. Sign up for our newsletter for updates.
