Without you: boring, monotonous houses, hackneyed gardens, and general stagnation. With you: the best adventure of the summer, even if it takes place in November. This year’s festival visual identity draws on North American suburbia—and we’re turning this iconic backdrop into an invitation to join our neighborhood. Let’s write the best possible script—one that will outshine any summer blockbuster. Or, simply put: join the volunteer team and make good things happen at the 16th American Film Festival!

The 16th AFF will take over Wrocław from November 6 to 11. On the big screens: the freshest and finest American indie films, hits straight from international festivals (including the just-wrapped Venice Film Festival), Hollywood at its best, cult classics, and those brilliant yet still under-the-radar auteurs. Guests from the US, including Susan Seidelman, will join us in person, so you’ll have the chance to meet the creators who shape the world of American film.

We’re looking for both seasoned cinephiles and those just beginning their cinematic journey, as well as culture lovers of every stripe, open to new experiences and challenges. To join the AFF adventure, fill out the application form, let us know your availability and main areas of interest. We’re accepting applications until October 11, 2025, and will notify all candidates via email starting October 21, 2025.

What does volunteering involve?

American Film Festival volunteers are the backbone of the festival, making sure everything runs smoothly so that guests and audiences can enjoy its unique atmosphere. Volunteers help with screenings, festival branding, audience organization, promotional activities, and the festival center itself. Work is shift-based, scheduled in advance, and supported by mentors.

Key information for this year’s volunteers:

Anyone over the age of 16 can apply. Minors must provide parental consent.
Volunteering runs November 4-11, and requires daily attendance at the New Horizons Cinema.
