Create All States of Cinema with us! Join the volunteer team for the 14th American Film Festival. We welcome both seasoned cinephiles, as well as those who are just beginning their cinematic adventure; people interested in culture in the broadest sense, communicative, open to new experiences and challenges.
You just need to complete and submit an application (see below). The application will be available throughout the volunteer recruitment period. In order to complete an application, you must first log in at americanfilmfestival.pl
The Festival organizers will be responsible for the selection process and for signing contracts with successful applicants. The results of the recruitment process will be sent out by post. The completion and submission of an application is not tantamount to being accepted as a volunteer.
We are waiting for applications until October 9, 2023, and we will inform you about the recruitment results by October 24, 2023 (via email).
Volunteer work requires your everyday presence in New Horizons Cinema between 6-12 November. When completing your application you need to declare your availability each day. This information is highly important for us during the recruitment process.
Your volunteer ID will include your name and surname, as well as your photo. You are required to attach a recent portrait photo (in which your face is clearly visible) in electronic format. The file needs to be in good quality and resolution and of a size up to 10 MB.
If you are a minor over the age of 16, you may volunteer subject to written consent to participate in the festival, given by a parent or guardian.
Volunteers at the Festiwal help with preparations and implementation of all Festival events so that participants and guests can enjoy the Festival and its unique atmosphere. We require volunteers to help with screenings at cinemas, with the Festival’s artistic events, audience assistance, helping Festival participants and guests, working at the press office, and distributing printed materials. Volunteers will work according to a schedule, in a shift-based system, and under supervision. Detailed working conditions will be set out in an agreement concluded between each volunteer and the New Horizons Association, and additional conditions will be established at an orientation meeting to take place before volunteers begin their work in Wrocław.
Volunteer work requires your everyday presence in New Horizons Cinema between 6-12 November. Detailed schedules will be established at orientation meetings and will depend on the department that you will be assigned to. Each department has its own meeting and its own shift system (which can be more or less flexible) but all of them require your everyday presence; there is no possibility of getting involved as a volunteer on selected days only (such as: just on the weekend).
Volunteers are needed for the following activities:
Each volunteer, regardless of the department they work in, may attend screenings and other events of their choice, during which their task will consist in checking the quality of the screening, or whether the respective event progresses as planned.
The best and most important reward that comes from donating your time as a volunteer is your active contribution to creating the festival itself. The festival offers volunteers opportunities to meet many interesting filmmakers, watch screenings, listen to panel discussions and enjoy many other accompanying events. Being a volunteer provides free access to film screenings, some concerts at the Arsenal festival club and other events.
Unfortunately, volunteers are responsible for their own transportation, accommodations, and food. The organizers will provide civil-liability and personal-accident insurance.
Every volunteer will receive a dual language (Polish and English) confirmation of volunteer services performed. The document will be posted to you within three months of festival completion, at the latest.
