Sarah Friedland

Sarah Friedland is a director, screenwriter, and choreographer, best known for her project Movement Exercises Trilogy (2017-2022), a collection of short films exploring themes of motion and memory. A graduate of Brown University’s Media and Contemporary Culture program, she is also the creator of video installations and performances showcased at MOMA, the Bronx Museum, and the Performa 19 Biennial. Friedland gained early film experience working alongside industry icons like Steve McQueen and Kelly Reichardt. In 2023, she was named one of the 25 most notable figures in independent cinema by „Filmmaker” magazine.
