Christopher Strong

Dorothy Arzner, USA 1933, 78’
Working Girls Dance, Girl, Dance

Christopher Strong, a devoted husband and father, meets Cynthia Darrington, a daring young aviator, at a glamorous ball. What unfolds could have been a tale of romance, betrayal, or an illegitimate child—plotlines typical before the Hays Code's censorship restrictions were introduced. Katharine Hepburn's role in this film cemented her status as a Hollywood star, and the film remains one of the most-watched works by director Dorothy Arzner.
