Ali Abbasi

Ali Abbasi (b. 1981) is a director of Iranian descent who lives in Copenhagen. He is currently working on  The Last of Us with Pedro Pascal. His film  Boundary won the Un Certain Regard section in Cannes; it is based on the short story by Ajvide Lindqvist and also received an Oscar nomination for makeup and costumes. His Holy Spider, a thriller based on a true story, screened in the main competition in Cannes where the film's star, Zar Amir-Ebrahimi, won the award for the best actress.
