A Haitian Creole family living in Miami navigates issues of gentrification, identity, and longing for a home. As a member of the diaspora, the director looks with nostalgia at the next generation of immigrants who – while accepting the new rules, try to cling to their roots. The film was recognized by the jury of the Tribeca Film Festival with a special mention.

Monica Sorelle
Monica Sorelle is a Miami-born Haitian-American director, producer and artist whose works often explore the cultural identity of the Caribbean diaspora in Florida. Her photographs and videos have taken part in individual and group exhibitions at various American cultural institutions. Sorelle also worked in the production department for Film Independent, A24, HBO and PBS, and her films garnered awards at the Berlinale and Sundance. Her feature directorial debut, Mountains, premiered at the Tribeca Festival.
