Hailing from Forth Worth, Texas, the screenwriter and director studied the quite practical field of electrical engineering. Her first industry job was assisting on the production of Terrence Malick 's To the Wonder, and later worked on August: Osage County. Lagueria caught the cinematic bug and subsequently worked with writers on the The L Word seriesand made many pilots and short films. Black Barbie. A Documentary premiered at the SXSW festival.
