Valley Pride doesn’t make anyone who works there proud – they spray pesticides and pick lettuce for hours in the heat, like the cogs in a huge machine. Lukas Marxt shows the cruelty of intensive agriculture, which destroys the environment, the economy, and exploits workers.

Born in 1983 in Austria, Lukas Marxt is an artist and filmmaker who creates video installations and short documentaries that show at international exhibitions and film festivals. He studied geography and environmental sciences at the University of Graz, and then took up audiovisual studies at the University of Art in Linz. Lucas completed his master's degree at the Academy of Media Arts in Cologne and postgraduate studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Leipzig. He focuses on ecological and socio-political themes.
