The latest from the Ross brothers (Bloody Nose, Empty Pockets) is a mockumentary about five kids who trip to the Pacific coast to escape adulthood and important decisions. Along the way, they discover America for themselves, meet local derelicts, and wallow in freedom.
The Ross brothers were born in Sidney, Ohio. For years, they have been working together on their projects by taking on the different roles of director, screenwriter, editor, or cinematographer. Their films are often referred to as observational documentaries. The Ross brothers’ films screen at international film festivals, including Venice, Berlin, Sundance, Tribeca, and SXSW. Gasoline Rainbow was created during the pandemic and, according to the filmmakers, inspired by such films as The Wizard of Oz, Easy Rider and Streetwise.
