Alexander Horwath

Alexander Horwath is an Austrian film critic, cinema historian, and curator. From 1992 to 1997, he directed the Vienna Film Festival, and from 2002 to 2017, he led the Vienna Film Museum. He also curated the documenta 12 film program (2007). A prominent figure in film scholarship, Horwath has authored and edited numerous books on American cinema of the 1960s and 1970s. Currently a member of the Akademie der Künste in Berlin, he teaches cinema history at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna. Henry Fonda for President marks his screenwriting and directorial debut.
