Maria Callas hides her changing face from the world. She also hides her voice, as it often betrays her. Pablo Larraín (Jackie, Spencer) once again portrays the loneliness that comes with fame. In her most mesmerizing role in years, Angelina Jolie converses with ghosts, revisiting memories from a life beyond the official biographies.
Born in 1976 in Chile, Pablo Larraín is a director and producer. He first gained recognition for films like Tony Manero and the Berlin award-winning drama El Club. In Jackie, Spencer, and now Maria — starring Natalie Portman, Kristen Stewart, and Angelina Jolie — Larraín has focused on exploring the lives of iconic women: Jackie Kennedy, Princess Diana, and Maria Callas. Together with his brother Juan de Dios, he founded the production company Fabula, producing works like A Fantastic Woman and Gloria by Sebastián Lelio.
