The new film by Gia Coppola (Palo Alto) stars Pamela Anderson as Shelley, a seasoned revue dancer whose life takes an unexpected turn when she is abruptly removed from the marquee of the show she headlined for decades. Set in the cold, reflective atmosphere of winter in Las Vegas, Shelley faces an uncertain future as she contemplates life beyond the stage. The film won the Special Jury Prize at the 2024 San Sebastián Film Festival.
Born in 1987, Gia Coppola is a screenwriter, director, and actress, and the granddaughter of legendary filmmaker Francis Ford Coppola. Her father, Gian-Carlo Coppola, tragically died in an accident before she was born. Growing up, Gia spent significant time on the film sets of her aunt, Sofia Coppola, contributing to projects like Somewhere as a costume consultant and assisting with Twixt, directed by her grandfather. Gia’s debut movie Palo Alto (2013), based on short stories by James Franco, and her second film Mainstream (2020), were both featured in the prestigious Orizzonti section at the Venice Film Festival.
