This religious horror film raises deep questions about the meaning of faith and the role of religion in modern times. As they spread the Word, sisters Barnes and Paxton find themselves at the wrong house—Mr. Reed's (Hugh Grant) cozy, berry-cake-scented home. There, they must fight not only for survival but also for salvation and the promise of eternal life.
Scott Beck and Bryan Woods are American directors, writers, and producers who began collaborating while still in college. They made their full-length debut in 2015 with the horror film Nightlight. Their breakthrough came a year later when they sold the script for A Quiet Place to Paramount, with the film directed by John Krasinski and garnering widespread acclaim from audiences and critics alike. Since then, Beck and Woods have gone on to direct other horror films like Haunt and Boogeyman, as well as the sci-fi thriller 65. Their latest film, Heretic, premiered at this year's Toronto festival.
