Matthew Fifer, a film studies graduate of New York's The New School, has had a diverse career, working on everything from short films, TV series, and commercials to high-budget productions like Avengers (2012). His first short film, Pop (2016), paved the way for his feature-length debut four years later - Cicada (2020). This award-winning film, inspired by Fifer's own experiences, was well-received at LGBTQ+ film festivals, including the New York LGBT Film Festival and the Polish LGBT Film Festival, where Fifer starred alongside his real-life partner.
