Argo

Argo is once-popular actor Ben Affleck's third film as director. While his recent roles have failed to generate much excitement, his directorial feats (Gone Baby Gone, The Town), put him on the map of interesting directorial talents. Argo keeps audiences on the edge of their seats to the last shot. Even though we know the ending, we feel like we’re watching it for the first time. Impressive attention to detail - clothes, mustache, locations, recreation of shots and images from the Iranian revolution, as well as grain and color convey a documentary feel. The age of the cast oscillates around 40 and ironic comments about the film industry provide an appropriate dose of comedy showing that Hollywood can still laugh itself.
