I’m Obsessed with You (But You’ve Got to Leave Me Alone)

Where’s the line between art and real life? What if we, just for a moment, forgot about the thin line between stage and reality, and simply improvised? Four friends from a New York college know something about that. Their carefree life, with its trite problems and short love affairs, changes forever the moment they have to think about their future. One innocent event provokes another, while the spiral of episodes drawn out over time thickens like the plot of a great stage play. Jon Goracy, in his debut based on the story by Genevieve Adams, seems to exploit a classic teen film vehicle at first glance. However, the deeper we get into the story, the fewer tired clichés and formulas we find as the prose of life replaces sweet innocence. The moment the characters have to answer one very important question is inevitably approaching – are they living as they planned?
