Yosemite

EUROPEAN PREMIERE

It's California, 1985, and we follow several seemingly regular, but actually formative events in the lives of five boys. Divided into three sections, the first story begins when a father takes his sons to Yosemite National Park, where a dangerous mountain lion is on the loose. The boys, Chris and Alex, roam the mountains and forest, while their father, a recovering alcoholic, shares his wisdom. The second section is about Chris's friend, Joe, a regular boy ignored by his parents, who loves to read comic books and spy on his sensual baby-sitter. By accident, he meets Harry, and adult, who invites him over; wary Joe begins an unusual relationship with him. The third section focuses on Ted, who is friends with Chris, but not Joe. The boys set off in search of the mountain lion. Anxiety, lack of parental supervision and new feelings stirring in their bodies steer the boys in this tension-filled film, which The Hollywood Reporter describes as a movie succeeding on its own quiet terms, binding the three parts together with assurance and tonal consistency to cast a lingering spell.
