Mackenzie, a resourceful 14-year-old girl, is sent by her mother to live with an uncle amidst inaccessible and forested wilderness crisscrossed by sparkling streams. Although he seems like a supportive caretaker and friend, the relationship turns bad and Mackenzie decides to run. On her lonely way back to Seattle, she meets Bartlett, suffering after the loss of his wife. Their trip to Denali National Park will be trailblazing, though for different reasons for each. Under the watchful eye of the Godmother of American independent film, legendary producer Christine Vachon (Indie Star Award, 4th AFF), Frank Hall Green offers his take on the coming-of-age quickly story, this time in inhospitable though breathtakingly beautiful nature. A must see for fans of Into the Wild and Wild. IndieWire writes Wildlike is not a traditional Hollywood feel-good buddy road movie, but a semi-slow burn experience that takes its subject matter and characters seriously while unrolling the central relationship of the story in a refreshingly deliberate pace.
