A Shape of Things to Come Ted K

Inspired by the works of Argentine writer Jorge Luis Borges, this story-mosaic directed by Iva Radivojević is a journey through cultures, languages and experiences. The director beckons viewers to visit, presenting her protagonists in ten short stories, each being a separate conversation, impression or contemplation within a specific time and space. Together, they form a Borgesian universe, a library in which there is ample room for everyone. Aleph also combines various, smoothly changing elements of film art and narrative means of expression, showing how the inhabitants of the Earth deal with everyday life, what they consider noteworthy, and what they say about the world around them. Each becomes the most important hero of their own story, enriching the others as well. The common element is the subtle voice of the narrator, sometimes appearing like a ghost from the past, with humanity as the leitmotif. Aleph had its world premiere at New Directors / New Films.
