First Date

Mike (Tyson Brown) has a teenage crush on Kelsey (Shelby Duclos), a girl at school. A friend convinces him to finally call her and the two unexpectedly arrange a first date. The only problem is, Mike doesn't have a car, and he doesn't have the money to present himself properly. An unfortunate chain of events puts a classic '65 Chrysler jalopy into Mike's hands, along with more trouble to come. The girl is waiting, but Mike has to fend off the former car owner's aggressive wife, two weird cops, an even weirder car gang, and a feline hell-bent on revenge. All that in a single night! At times highly surreal, this story is a super suspenseful (and always cosmically amazing) thriller, coming-of-age story, dramedy and romance the likes of which you've never seen before. Critics say First Date is the perfect combination of Superbad and True Romance, but don't take their word for it. You have to see it for yourself! First Date premiered at the Sundance Film Festival.
