A young woman wanders the streets of Manhattan - a little absent, a little confused. She doesn't quite know where she is and what she should do. Does she have any plans? Commitments? After the fundamental questions, there are also others: what has she done with her purse, is she hungry, is she a vegetarian, is she gluten tolerant? Is she spontaneous or introverted? Is she Jewish? Is she a writer? Marching through the unfamiliar streets of crowded New York, Alina (Vanessa Kirby) gets to know herself a bit, someone summons her, she thinks she recognizes someone else; flashes of memory and awareness appear. There is also the "pre-pandemic" city in all its glory, residents walk without masks and you can eat a hot dog under a booth between busy intersections. Kirby puts on a daring performance in this unconventional, mesmerizing urban fairy tale about identity and being here and now.
