Submissions to the 12th American Film Festival open January 25th

US in Progress 2022 awards

Happy New Year! Let it be safer and better for filmmaking and filmmakers than 2020.

The American Film Festival, a unique event celebrating contemporary independent moviemaking form United States will be held in Wroclaw, Poland for the 12th time from November 9th till 14th in 2021 and will present around 50 new American movies as well as classics and retrospectives.

Submissions for new US-produced feature films (minimum rt of 60 minutes) open through americanfilmfestival.pl website on January 25th

We are looking for narratives and documentaries to be presented in two competitive sections: Spectrum and American Docs as well as for the experimental section On the Edge.

Spectrum (for narrative features) and American Docs (for documentaries) awards come with $10,000 and $5,000 cash prizes for the director.

  • The festival submissions will be open till July 10

  • There is no fee for sending your film

At this occasion we would like to congratulate alumni of AFF’s US in Progress 2020 program.

Erin Vassilopoulos, director of Superior (produced by Benjamin Cohen, Grant Curatola and Patrick Donovan) and Jane Schoenbrun, director of We’re All Going to the World’s Fair (produced by Sarah Winshall and Carlos Zozaya), premiering at Sundance Film Festival 2021. Fingers crossed!

US in Progress Wroclaw submissions for 2021 edition will open in August.
