The 11th edition of the US + Canada in Progress co-production forum will be held both online and in person from November 10th to 12th 2021, as a part of the 12th edition of the American Film Festival in Wrocław. In 2021 the festival will be running from November 9th-14th.
Five American and one Canadian project in post-production will take part in the programme and will be judged by Polish partners offering post-production services as well as Polish Film Institute representatives.
In collaboration with the Polish Producers Alliance (KIPA) four Polish projects in the development stage seeking partners from the US will be presented. The following Polish projects will be analysed and discussed by American experts:
Tiger by Bartosz Żmuda, produced by Przemek Miękinia (Before My Eyes)
The Future Is No Longer Quite What It Used To Be by Adam Barwiński, produced by Jacek Wasilewski (Narrative Impact)
Cryo by Piotr Matejkowski, produced by Agnieszka Chromicka (ChromaPRO/Cardel Entertainment)
Moments Forever Faded by Artur Wyrzykowski, produced by Ludka Kierczak (Bold Humans)
The Polish-American Co-production meetings will also feature the Polish Film Institute's presentation about the Polish tax incentives scheme, as well as two co-production case studies with Klaudia Śmieja-Rostworowska (Madants) and Radka Bardes (Orka Film).
The experts consulting Polish projects this year will be: Hilda Somarriba (PrismMedia), Ryan Kampe (Visit Films), Scott Macauley (Filmmaker Magazine), Frederic Boyer (Tribeca FF, Reykjavik IFF). Ryan Kampe from Visit Films will also lead a discussion on changing post-pandemic distribution patterns. The forum allows Polish producers and directors to participate in transcontinental networking and establish new relationships.
US in Progress is organized with the support of The Polish Film Institute, American Embassy and in partnership with the Polish Producers Alliance and Wroclaw Film Commission.
