11th US+Canada in Progress Winners Announced

The jury made of representatives of the partner companies decided to award the projects as follows:

You & I by Summer Shelton was awarded:

• the $10,000 cash prize for post-production in Poland awarded by the director of the Polish Film Institute;
• creative sound design by Maciej Zieliński (Soundflower Studio);

Jethica by Pete Ohs was awarded: 

• color grading from Black Photon and VFX from XANF
• production consultancy from Match&Spark

Way Out Ahead of Us by Rob Rice was awarded 

• title sequence and graphic design from XANF as well as selected deliverables from Black Photon 
• VFX supervision for his next film from XANF

Swallowed by Carter Smith was awarded: 

• VFX and deliverables from Fixafilm 
• production consultancy from Match&Spark
• free accreditation to producers’ network during the 2022 Cannes Marché du Film for the producer of the film.  

Montreal Girls by Patricia Chica was awarded: 

• VFX and titles from Orka Studio

Mother of Color by Dawn Jones Redstone was awarded: 

• Canal+ group’s Ale kino+ television rights offer

 

The awards execution will be negotiated with project producers individually on the basis of the studios’ availability.

Besides presenting the projects to professional audiences, the directors and/or producers of the above projects took part in one on one meetings with European festival programmers and sales agents. 

The 2021 edition of US+Canada in Progress included pitches of Polish projects in development stages seeking American partners and featured three Case Studies with Radka Bardes, Klaudia Śmieja Rostworowska, and Ryan Kampe (Visit Films) as speakers. 

US+Canada in Progress is organized with the support of the Polish Film Institute, American Embassy, Canadian Embassy and in partnership with the Polish Producers’ Alliance and Wroclaw Film Commission.
