"The Unknown Country" honored with a Gotham Award Worth every penny! AFF on the list of festivals to attend!

The 15th American Film Festival in Wroclaw, to be held in 2024 from November 5th till the 11th is calling for feature films produced in the United States. For the last 14 years the AFF has presented the best new independent film from the US at the incredible and newly redone 9-screen Nowe Horyzonty Cinema theatre in a charming vibrant multicultural city of Wroclaw. We would very much like to consider your latest movie for our upcoming edition. It is completely free of charge.

The AFF's film lineup is headlined by our Spectrum and American Docs competitions, where our wonderful audiences select a narrative feature and documentary feature made in U.S. The directors of the winning films are receiving $10,000 and $5,000 cash prizes in two respective competitions.

Last year’s winners were:

  • Lisa Steen, director of Late Bloomers (pictured above Michelle Twarowska, actor and producers Alexandra Baretto and Taylo Feltner receiving the trophy at the closing ceremony in 2023)
  • Charlie Sadoff for Against All Enemies
Submissions to the AFF’s competitions must fulfill the following criteria:
  • Produced by an American company (registered in the USA),
  • Running time: more 60 minutes,
  • Completed after May 1, 2023,
  • Minimum status requirement: Polish Premiere at AFF.
