US in Progress panels and participating Polish producers announced

As part of the US in Progress 2024 edition, 7-9th November, and thanks to the partnerships with the Producers Guild of Poland and the Polish Producers Alliance, Polish producers will have the opportunity to network with potential American partners.

The following Polish producers will take part in this year’s co-production meetings: Olga Bieniek (CINEMUNDO), Agnieszka Dziedzic (Koi Studio), Julia Jendrysik (Rizz Films), Paweł Kosuń (Kino Polska), Janusz Michalik (Studio AGART), Barbara Palka (ATM Group), Marcin Wierzchosławski (Metro Films).

On November 7th, a set of panels and discussions on transatlantic collaborations will take place, moderated by Marta Bałaga from "Variety”. Invited experts and American producers will share their insights and expertise during these sessions:

  • Renowned producer Ewa Puszczyńska (Ida, Cold War, Zone of Interest) will discuss opportunities for collaboration with Poland in a case study centered on her latest film A Real Pain. She will be joined by the film’s cinematographer, Michał Dymek and production designer Mela Melak.
  • US in Progress alumni will share their experiences in post-producing their films in Poland with the program’s partners. Panelists will include Sarah Friedland (director), Sarah Winshall (producer) and Wilson Cameron (cinematographer) as well as representatives of partner post-production companies including EarWorks, Fixafilm, Soundflower Studio, and XANF.

On November 9th, a roundtable discussion will take place focusing on tips and strategies for success in sales as well as festival strategies for non-English films in the US. Experts will include Jake Casey (The Dazey Phase), Ryan Kampe (Visit Films), Jacqueline Lyanga (Berlinale), and Jonah Rabb (WME).

US in Progress is organized in collaboration with the Polish Film Institute and Lower Silesian Voivodship as well as Adam Mickiewicz Institute in collaboration with the DCF – Lower Silesia Film Centre.
