A guide to purchasing tickets for the 14. American Film Festival

When do tickets for stationary screenings go on sale?

Advance tickets sale for stationary screenings starts on 25th October and until 6th November will be only available online at americanfilmfestival.pl. To purchase tickets online at americanfilmfestival.pl you must have an active account and be logged in (setting up an account is free).

We encourage you to use electronic tickets and purchase tickets online at americanfilmfestival.pl. This year ticket offices will be open only during the American Film Festival – on 7th-12th November at New Horizons Cinema (19a-21 Kazimierza Wielkiego Street, Wrocław), from 9:00 a.m. until the start of the last screening of the day.

During the festival, online sales for a given title end 30 minutes before the start of a given show – this will allow viewers to calmly complete their transaction, reach the room and take their seats. After this time, until the show starts, tickets can be purchased at the cinema box offices or by using the Open Ticket service directly at the doors of the particular cinema hall. 

What are the prices for individual screenings / events?

Prices in 2023:

• PLN 24: single ticket
• PLN 21: single ticket for New Horizons Cinema Friends Club Card / Nasz Wrocław card holders (the discount does not apply to the Highlights section, nor the opening and award ceremonies)
• PLN 29: single ticket for the Highlights screenings, opening gala or the awards gala

Can I buy a ticket for less than 24 PLN?

Of course. People who have the New Horizons Cinema Friends Club Card or the Nasz Wrocław card can purchase tickets for PLN 21 for themselves and an accompanying person (the discount does not apply to the Highlights section, nor the opening and award ceremonies). A KNH Friend's Club Card costs only PLN 25 (Festival box offices do not sell the card), is valid for a year and entitles you to purchase discount tickets (for PLN 19) for all regular repertoire films at the Nowe Horyzonty Cinema after the festival.

To purchase discount tickets, select the "I want to use a discount" option on the purchase page and enter your card number. Note: discounted tickets are only available for purchase online.

Is the option to purchase tickets via the Open Ticket card available?

Yes. The Open Ticket (OT) efficiently uses seats available in the screening room. OT works like a pre-paid card that can be topped up with cash or payment card at the festival box office. OT holders can scan their open ticket outside a screening roo – including at the start time of their selected screening, and occupy a vacant seat or an unused reserved seat (subject to availability). However, OT is not only for people waiting for vacancies at the most popular screenings – the funds on the card can also be used for the regular purchase of a ticket for any screening that has not sold out. OT cards sales will begin at 9 a.m. on November 7 at the festival box office.

Can I return purchased tickets?

We do not accept ticket returns – please read the program carefully and purchase tickets for the appropriate screenings. 

What else is worth knowing about stationary screenings?

• Late arrivals will not be allowed to enter screenings – this rule will be strictly enforced. 
• The seats in the rooms are not numbered.
• Please arrive early to your screening – the screening rooms open 30 minutes before the scheduled screening time.
• We recommend that you follow the festival's website – as the festival is also attended by people with passes, for whom a separate pool of seats is provided, and individual seats are often available for sale. If there are no tickets available for the selected show on a given day, chances are that a few individual seats will be available!
