Tobe Hooper

Tobe Hooper (1943–2017) was born in Austin, Texas, and his directorial debut came with Eggshells. His breakout success, however, was The Texas Chain Saw Massacre, his second full-length feature, which became both a box-office smash and a cult classic. Hooper continued his exploration of horror throughout his career, with Poltergeist, produced by Steven Spielberg, being another major hit.
