A neo-direct-cinema, The Featherweight is a biopic of Willie Pep, a boxer who went down in sports history by winning the world boxing featherweight championship twice and fighting a record number of professional fights.
Robert Kolodny
Robert Kolodny is a New York-based director, screenwriter, and cinematographer who has worked with the Safdie brothers, Alex Ross Perry, and Sean Price Williams, among many others. He was the cinematographer on documentaries such as Procession (2021) by Robert Greene and All the Beauty and Bloodshed (2022) by Laura Poitras. Video installations by Kolodny and Cecilia Vicuña showed at prestigious American museums, including MoMA. He teaches at the School of Visual Arts in New York. The Featherweight is his full-length debut, premiered in the Orizzonti section at the Venice IFF in 2023.
