Ari Aster

Director and screenwriter Ari Aster was born in 1986 and is a graduate of the College of Santa Fe and AFI Conservatory. While having made only three feature films, Aster is often considered one of the most important independent filmmakers and his films have shown at Sundance and SXSW, among others. Aster’s debut Hereditary is hailed one of the best horror films of recent years. Together with producer Lars Knudsen, he founded the production company Square Peg, which plans, among others, to make new films by Kantemir Balagov and Guy Maddin.
