Beau Is Afraid Cat Person

A lecture by an independent director and academic, illustrated by film fragments. Nina Menkes explains how basic film techniques objectify women on screen, and the consequences it has for their work in film. Cinema imperturbably reproduces the patriarchal vision of the world.
