after the screening of Are we Good?
KNH 6, 9.11
An old school evening of stand-up comedy featuring the trio that started it all in Wrocław. Derrek Carriveau, Jim Williams, and Christian A. Dumais gather for a hilarious night looking at movies, music, and much more with that outsider perspective they have brought to Wrocław's comedy stage from the beginning.
Derrek Carriveau – an American performer living in Wroclaw, Poland. He is the co-founder and head of World-Wide Comedy and host of the weekly open mic. As a stand-up comedian and voice actor, Carriveau is known for his whiskey-warm voice, martini-dry wit, and over-reliance on alcohol metaphors. His mix of introspection and observation has delighted audiences all over Europe.
Christian A. Dumais – an American writer, editor, and stand-up comedian living in Poland. His work has been featured in Time, Rolling Stone, The Huffington Post, and Comedy Central. Manolith wrote that “he’s funny, waxing poetic on pop culture in curt and hilarious ways,” and NPR said, “People get paid a LOT of money to write comedy who are not one-tenth as funny as [Christian A. Dumais].” It’s been said he loves movies a little too much.
Jim Williams – a comedian, who has developed a unique brand of performance by traveling and entertaining people all over the world and in all kinds of environments. Jim's comedy can be best described as witty, absurd, and playful, while also catching audiences off guard, biting into the proverbial funny bone with the ferocity of a hungry, feral dog. Jim is responsible for starting the English comedy scene throughout Poland and was one of the first comedians to tour around central Europe.
