The Bill Murray Stories: Life Lessons Learned From a Mythical Man

The Bill Murray Stories: Life Lessons Learned From A Mythical Man
Tommy Avallone, USA 2018, 70’
Polish premiere
Satan & Adam The Gospel of Eureka

Remember that fantastic episode from Jarmusch's Coffee and Cigarettes where GZA and RZA encounter Bill Murray at a cafe? The two rappers are discussing the harmful effects of caffeine when they are approached by a waiter, who turns out to be none other than the star of Groundhog Day and Ghostbusters. Reportedly, such situations also happen in real life. Legend has it that Murray regularly leaves behind his celebrity bubble to sneak into the world of ordinary people. He loves dropping in on all sorts of events. With his iconic half-smile glued to his face, he materializes in the least expected places, as if he were a harmless, playful ghost. The Internet is full of absurd stories with him in the leading role. The young documentary filmmaker Tommy Avallone set out to look for people who claim they have had the pleasure of being surprised by Bill Murray. His film is a pop-culture investigation and tribute to the famous comedian.
