Phantom Cowboys

In his melancholic documentary Daniel Patrick Carbone tells a story of growing up in places where time lapse does not really change anything. At least not in the lives of three different boys living in California, West Virginia and Florida. Larry - rabbit hunter, Nick - football player and Tyler - who has recently became a father, are still young, but do not have many illusions any more. Neither in 2009 nor a few years later, when the director visits them again, often just to see that not all of their dreams have come true. While traveling in time, Carbone is wondering how much in life depends on you, on the color of your skin or on your role model, who is actually stopping you from taking a major step in life. Even though a specific purpose, such as buying a car or a house is everything what has left from the plans of his characters, nobody is pitying themselves. What will be next? Only time will show - says one of them. And what about the famous "American dream"? Apparently it is not meant for everyone.
