Taika Waititi's comedy tells the story of the American Samoa national football team. The worst team in the world, which became famous for its spectacular defeat, losing 31-0 in the 2001 World Cup qualifiers, hires a last-chance coach (Michael Fassbender) in the hope that he will reverse its fortunes.

Taika Waititi

Born in 1975 native of New Zealand, Taika Waititi is a director, screenwriter, actor, and comedian. He was nominated for an Oscar for his short film Two Cars, One Night. His second feature, Boy, was shown at the Sundance Festival and nominated for the Grand Jury Prize, as was Eagle vs. Shark (2007). Waititi won the People’s Choice Award at the Toronto International Film Festival for What We Do in the Shadows: Interviews with Some VampiresJojo Rabbit premiered at the festival in Toronto and won Academy Award for Best adapted screenplay.
