Michel Franco

Michel Franco was born 1979 in Mexico City. He is a director, screenwriter, and producer. Early in his career, he developed a distinctive style based on revealing middle-class hypocrisy, breaking taboos, as well as fascination with sexuality and passing. Franco is a darling of world festival juries; his films have received awards in Cannes and Venice, among others. He also produced  From Afar by Lorenzo Vigas, honored with the Venetian Golden Lion in 2015.
