In the provocative Babygirl, Dutch director Halina Reijn (Instinct, Bodies Bodies Bodies) fearlessly explores female sexuality without a hint of hesitation, brushing off critics and accusations of antifeminism or political correctness. Romy, played by Nicole Kidman in a Venice-winning performance, wields power, wealth, and a high-profile marriage to Antonio Banderas’s character. She appears to have it all, yet struggles to bring her secret fantasies to life, fantasies known only to her carefully guarded laptop. Everything changes when she meets Samuel, a young intern played by Harris Dickinson, who boldly crosses every boundary and claims control. With Kidman’s fearlessly captivating return to form, Reijn cranks up the sensuality of George Michael’s Father Figure and invites a raw, honest conversation about desire and mystery. After watching this film, you will never look at a glass of milk the same way again.
