Ari Aster, one of the most captivating of young filmmakers and creator of the international blockbuster Hereditary presents a director’s cut of his dark tale Midsommar. In an extended version of his movie, the director focuses on Dani and Christian’s strained relationship, as well as rituals that take place in an idyllic Swedish settlement. Dani and Christian are young Americans, who desperately try to save their broken relationship. A family tragedy makes Dani join Christian and his friends for a summer holiday trip to northern Sweden. There, in a secluded village, once in ninety years, an ancient midsummer celebration occurs. A romantic trip quickly takes a cruel and disturbing form. Starring in main roles are many of the cinema’s rising stars: Florence Pugh, Will Poulter, Jack Reynor and William Jackson Harper. The director’s cut was brought to Poland on a special request from audiences by Gutek Film Company.

Ari Aster

American director and screenwriter. He grew up in New York. As a director he debuted with a controversial short movie entitled The Strange Thing About the JohnsonsHe studied at AFI Conservatory, where he met Paweł Pogorzelski, who later became his co-worker. His first full-length feature film Hereditary starring Toni Collette and Gabriel Byrne was presented i.a. at the Sundance Festival and was declared one of the best horror movies in recent years. Midsommar is his next film.
