Celebrating the winners of the 14th American Film Festival in Wrocław
What a bountiful film harvest! More than 200 cinema screenings, dozens of meetings, discussions, exhibitions, and evening AFF-ter Parties are behind us – the on-site chapter of the 14th American Film Festival has come to an end. But fret not, for the AFF adventure extends into your homes until November 19 with online screenings on the NH VOD platform (available in Poland). We already know who will leave Wrocław with awards in their hands. Today, during the Closing Gala, the laureates of this year’s edition were announced, with the festival audience acting as the jury, casting votes for their favorite titles.
Of the 16 feature films in the Spectrum section, viewers selected Late Bloomers, directed by Lisa Steen, as their favorite.
An original coming-of-age comedy about the passage of time, loneliness, and femininity. Twenty-eight-year-old Louise, and the nearly 60-year-old Antonina (Małgorzata Zajączkowska) both feel trapped in aching bodies and especially in the social roles imposed on them by their respective ages.

Of all the 8 documentaries presented in the American Docs section, the audience awarded Against All Enemies, directed by Charlie Sadoff.

The winning film from the Spectrum section secured a prize of $10,000, sponsored by the New Horizons Association. Meanwhile, the triumphant entry from the American Docs section received a $5,000 prize, sponsored by BNY Mellon.
