It will be (twice) a lucky thirteen: we have 13 festival days ahead of us at the 13th edition of the American Film Festival. From today until Sunday, we’ll be seeing each other at screenings at the New Horizons Cinema in Wrocław, and until November 20 you’ll be able to invite the festival to your homes as well – thanks to the online part of the event.
Nearly 200 screenings are ahead of us, including 6 this evening. Although tickets for Bone and All, the opening film, have already sold out, there are still other brilliances awaiting: She Said by Maria Schrader (20:00), starring the acclaimed Carey Mulligan and Zoe Kazan; Fragments of Paradise (19:45), about which the director KD Davison, winner of the best documentary award at Vencie, will talk in person; The Endless Summer (19:30) – a classic sunny production of Bruce Brown; Kogonada’s futuristic After Yang (19:00) and the film opening a retrospective of Robert Altman's work – Thieves Like Us (19:15).

On the second day, the festival gains momentum. You’ll be able to see several dozen different films, take part in conversations with foreign guests, and end the experience-filled day with a concert by Teoniki Rożynek, the composer for Roving Woman.
"An hour-long trip through sound thickets" – this is how Teoniki Rożynek, a composer who creates instrumental, electroacoustic and electronic music, describes her concert. She plays the violin, electronics and… waste. Teoniki has been associated with the world of cinema for many years and collaborated on Tower. A Bright Day by Jagoda Szelc, Sole by Carlo Sironi, Prime Time by Jakub Piątek, and recently on Michał Chmielewski's Roving Woman, which will have its premiere at the 13th American Film Festival. Teoniki's concert in Wrocław will take place in the intimate space of Mleczarnia (Pawła Włodkowica 9). Tickets: 40 PLN and 30 PLN for holders of accreditations / passes for this year's AFF.
We prepared a list of recommended places – cafes, restaurants, bistros – where you will satisfy your (non-film related) hunger and thirst. In most of these places, upon presenting a festival pass or a festival ticket for a given day, you will receive discounts prepared especially for AFF attendees.

Cinema-like conversations with good music and refreshing drinks. From November 8 to 13, Recepcja will be the festival club of the American Film Festival. From New Horizons to Ruska 46 street you are within a stone's throw, so come to the dance floor after watching films – let your eyes rest from the screen, and your body relax after sitting in a cinema chair for several hours.
