Festival Monday

Sunday at the festival Tuesday at the festival

A storm over Washington, a parallax view, and a touch of romance in the White House—just another Monday with Podkast Amerykański (American Podcast) at the festival. Start the new week (and the penultimate day of AFF cinema screenings) with Politics on Screen, introduced by Łukasz Pawłowski and Piotr Tarczyński, who will present the films from this ever-popular section. And tomorrow (Tuesday) at 11:30 a.m., you’ll have a chance not only to listen to Łukasz and Piotr but also to join the conversation during a special meeting for podcast listeners (KNH2, free admission).

Piotr Czerkawski, who will host today’s masterclass with Alexandre O. Philippe, one of this year’s Indie Star Award winners, has certainly prepared a barrage of questions. The event follows the screening of Kim Novak’s Vertigo at 7:00 p.m. (admission with a ticket for the film or a reservation under a pass/accreditation).

In total, Monday brings 45 screenings, 7 Q&A sessions with AFF guests and a Bottle Shock screening followed by a tasting in the KNH foyer. We’ll wrap up the night with the last AFF-ter party at the Top Floor Bar (New Horizons Cinema), starting at 9:00 p.m., with Jan Chrzan behind the decks for Corona Sunset Hours.

A feel-good film inspired by a true story—about chasing dreams and opening yourself up to new flavors and experiences (with the wonderful, much-missed Alan Rickman). After the screening, continue your cinematic journey in the cinema foyer: together with California Wines, we invite you to a tasting of Californian wines, celebrating the spectacular success of the Barrett family. Event for adults only.

Festival Tuesday

On the final day of the AFF cinema screenings, you can choose from 33 films showing at the New Horizons Cinema. In the evening, we’ll announce the winners of the Audience Awards in the TAURON Breakthrough and American Docs competitions. It’s also your last chance to meet Indie Star Award winner Alexandre O. Philippe (after Kim Novak’s Vertigo at 1:15 p.m.). And after that—you can add your own home to the American neighborhood: the online festival continues until November 23.
